Guesst brought me on to…

begin redesigning the Guesst site. Guesst is the technology company powering the New Retail. They make it easy to activate physical retail anywhere — from populating space with brands and their products, to transacting with customers. They enable brands, retailers, and owners to reimagine the way they do business. The company is moving in a new direction and needed an entire UX/UI audit. The site design had not been reconsidered since the company’s initiation in 2017. The first priority of the redesign was the flow that consumers use most, the listing and Pop-Shares page.

Problem

Redesign flow to evoke a high class shopping experience with scalable Pop-Share options.

The brand flow for choosing a Host Listing and finding a Pop-Share was simple enough but didn’t allow for scale. There was a limit on the type of Pop-Share that a brand could choose from and didn’t allow for customization. With that, Hosts also needed to easily set up the customizable Pop-Shares that brands see.

Solution

Allow Brands to inquire and message a Host about a Pop-Share within the listing page.

I created a new type-style guide based on the solutions from the listings page. After the design direction was formed, I decided to keep the page structurally the same. Pop-Shares continue to live on the right side of the screen with options to learn more or send and inquiry to the Host without leaving the page.

Process

1.

Research elegant store/product and real estate websites to get a grasp on the design style going forward and onboarding/ wizards that evoke a simplicity.

2.

Hand sketch quick wireframes for listing layout while focusing on the functionality of choosing and inquiring about a Pop-Share. As well as sketches focusing on the functionality of customization while creating Pop-Shares.

3.

Create high fidelity screens and prototype of the flow to deliver to Guesst for internal viewing.

Outcome

Brands have the ability to customize Pop-Shares to their liking, accelerating the amount of Pop-Share inquiries Hosts receive.

By allowing Pop-Share customization, more brands can be accommodated in a Host location. The turnover for Pop-Shares at a Host location became more frequent.

Along with the listing pages and search, I also redesigned the Message Center where users discuss lease agreements for Popshares.

Message center was very important to create quickly and then test. I wanted to make sure all discussions could be agreed upon, declined, and revised within the same window with easy ability to understand the functionality.

While Guesst was working on redesigning their website and updating the functionality, they were also opening stores in Boston and White Plains, New York malls called Guesst House. Each store was filled entirely with brands that are based online, I created the marketing and social media images for the openings of these stores. Below are is a gallery of those designs.
